AMERICAN VISION
American Vision is a photographic project that color codes each photos from different cities in the US based on its atmosphere. All editing choices were arbitrary with personal taste infused, yet they reveal the essence of each cities as if looking the world through the colored lenses.
For 3 weeks, I travelled across the North America, visiting 6 cities (New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, capturing visually captivating scenes from each scene including some of the iconic landmarks that represents each city. Throughout the process, I began questioning “What are the core identites of an American spirit?” Below represents some of my attempts to visually express my desire to understand the American landscape and the accompanying culture and spirit.
My main focus was on capturing simple yet bold lines, offering the viewers with unqiue perspective while embracing the qualities that each city brings from the perspective of the traveller. Having spent most of my time in NYC as a student, travelling outside my comfort zone, while embracing different cultures that makes The US so appealing was a great adventure for me.
